The foundation conducts research on traditional boats of the Asia-Pacific region such as the Double canoe of Tahiti, the Tatara canoe of Taiwan, and the Hawaiian canoe of Ogasawara, and relevant matters such as their construction material and customs.

Research study on management of maritime culture exhibition facility

For the purpose of establishing advanced usage and management methods of maritime culture exhibition facilities, the foundation conducts research regarding displaying methods for source materials of maritime culture at domestic and foreign facilities and storage methods for collected items in cooperation with researchers and intellectuals who are experts on maritime culture.
