We aim at promoting Okinawa’s economic and industrial development through the improvement and research of new horticultural varieties and development of planting management techniques.

Aiming at improving horticultural varieties in Okinawa to be even more appealing, we are promoting investigative research on native plants and the accumulation of knowledge and information on species hybridization techniques. Two kinds of “Churara series” species based on improving the kalanchoe integra, an endangered species, have been registered after conducting joint research with Chiba University.
Leveraging the characteristics of the flower lasting for one month without water as well as its many flower colors, we will promote the business with the Okinawa Prefectural Government, etc. toward commercial viability as cut flowers and aim at promoting horticultural agriculture.

We have collected seeds of traditional island vegetables and herbs and have further conducted cultivation surveys of new varieties.
For Hikanzakura (Taiwan cherries), which are well known in Okinawa, we are engaged in experiments on methods for predicting its full-blooming period and adjusting its blossoming.
We contribute to promoting agriculture in Okinawa Prefecture by focusing on improvement of management techniques for softscaping through management surveys on fertilizers and water that are necessary for plant growth.

For a massive increase in production of superior fruits, we are engaged in researching pineapple seedlings that utilize culturing techniques.
We are also aiming at establishing a production system for the foliage plant dracaena by improving the techniques for increased production.

We are developing a container technique to grow plants that can respond to the severe climate conditions of Okinawa such as the strong sunrays and heat in the summer as well as the arrival of typhoons. We look to increase the spread and increased usage of containers and planters that take less time and cost to manage such as watering and cleanup after a typhoon.
At our related company, Green Window, they build an attractive greening system that includes flowers and greenery by spreading various softscape displaying techniques in addition to the use of containers.

At the Okinawa International Orchid Show, there are many pieces of artwork displayed by flower producers. We aim at the promotion of the flower industry through displays and technical exchange.
In addition, in collaboration with the local community during the show, we introduce tourist sites and local specialties to promote tourism and the use of local products.

Leveraging the Ocean Expo Park and Shurijo Castle Park where numerous visitors come both from Japan and abroad, we sell Okinawan and local specialty products at stores as well as sell local specialties geared toward specially planned exhibits and special events.
We look to revitalizing the local community and promoting prefectural industries by actively disseminating detailed information about the products and producers and by communicating the appealing qualities of the products.

At Motobu-cho, which is located in the northern part of Okinawa, there is a traditional form of fishing called bonito pole-and-line fishing. We contribute to the promotion of local fishery by having the Motobu Fisheries Cooperative Association use the fishing boat “Kuroshio-maru II (14 tons)” owned by Okinawa Churashima Foundation to use for conserving and passing on the traditional form of fishing passed on from ancient days.

We have the local communities use three-dimensionally formed flower beds as a symbol to disseminate local information, and to express the appeal of the local community using flowers and plants, and to support the excavation of the attractiveness of Yanbaru (the northern part of Okinawa’s main island) and promote the local communities.
